Herald hearts haters

A fax from the Westboro Baptist Church arrived just a little while ago in our newsroom and it was so delightfully demented it made our night:

THANK GOD FOR RECORD FLOODING IN NORTH DAKOTA!

God sent the flood waters to cover the evil people of Bismarck and Fargo, ND, where you flipped off God and raised your hands against His anointed by criminalizing WBC’s gospel preaching against fags and fag-enablers in January, 2007….

Now you rebels are giving God’s glory to your goddess "Mother Nature". Listen up! You are messing with the wrong God! God’s wrath abides on YOU! There are not enough volunteers or sandbags to stop it! It’s time to put away your idols and your filthy manner of life! Fear God, keep His commandments, and give glory to HIM for ALL His judgments!…

GOD HATES NORTH DAKOTA!

These nuts have been waiting for two years to get back at us for banning their protests at funerals. That’s some serious hating. Well, at least they’re not particularly violent. They just want you to beat them so they can sue.

Step one is ignoring them. Give them not the time of day, nor the ink on page.

  2. dale says:

They’re illiterate morons, who demonstrate their illiteracy by not reading the Bible.

Ironically, one of the two words in the CAPTCHA is “hate”, which is what those people are all about, but diametrically opposed to the message of the Bible.

  3. ec99 says:

It always amuses me that people of this ilk believe the creator of the universe has nothing better to do than micromanage the earth.

  4. Barbara says:

Ugh, what the heck is wrong with people? And seriously can we talk about petty, holding a grudge for two years?

  5. Anon says:

Why not throw up a flood entry? There is only one story in the area and it will continue for a week, or two, depending on how nuch precip the area gets in the near future.

  6. Anon says:

I am starting to get a very bad feeling about the flooding. Part of what lead to the dyke failure in ’97 was fatigue on the part of GF officials. I just heard the Fargo mayor on national TV and he was unable to provide coherent responses to the reporter’s questions.
    Not good.

  7. Avatar of Tu-Uyen says:

How’s psychological fatigue on the part of a few leaders related to dike failure? I figure it was because of some structural failure.

  8. InTheKnow says:

They should be more concerned with themselves… they are just a tea-bagging away from what their hated fears.

  9. Grandma Dee says:

Why would the Grand Forks Herald even print such an article – it’s degrading, it’s just dopey, and it’s so unjustified.

  10. Unstable says:

“They just want you to beat them so they can sue.”

Makes me want to go find them and give them their wish.

  11. Red River says:

Let’s irk them to show up and picket the building of dikes – then we can throw their sorry hides into the red, all while yelling “WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?”
